We were contacted earlier this year by Glass Rooms, one of our regular customers, asking if we could supply a roof and quickly. The roof was to be installed in a house featuring on the TV program Fix It Yourself, which is hosted by the man himself, Tommy Walsh.

Fix It Yourself is a brand new series produced by Bullseye TV for the Discovery Channel. Each week, sees a family embark on a daunting yet dramatic home renovation, and Tommy helps them to slash their costs in half.

We exhibited at Grand Designs Once again this year. May 2011 we returned to Grand Designs Live, at the Excel in London for the sixth consecutive year. The show got off to quite a modest start being that it started the day after the royal wedding and fell over a four day weekend, but once the show got going it was as busy as ever. We felt that the visitors to Grand Designs this year were more ready to buy than visitors in pervious years. All in all it was yet another successful show.

In May 2010 we returned to Grand Designs Live, at the Excel in London for the fifth consecutive year. Grand Designs Live is the UK's number one, award-winning home show packed with design and inspiration for your home. Grand Designs Live never fails to disappoint, we had a very successful show exhibiting our aluminium roofs and ever popular roof lanterns.

After our show at Grand Designs Live at the Excel we decided to take our stand up to the NEC in Birmingham. Grand Designs Live in Birmingham was from the 9th to the 11th of October 2009. This was a great opportunity for us and our sister company Duration Windows to reach out to people further north than our usual area of influence.

Another successful show at Grand Designs Live. From the 25th April to 5th of May we where up exhibiting our aluminium roofs up in Birmingham's NEC along with our sister company Duration Windows. Our roof lanterns made a huge impact and we had a great show.

We were surprised to see on Channel 4's ‘The Home Show’ that during the build of an extension, the builders had problems sourcing a shaped window and a bi-folding door from the same supplier. The designer wanted the glazing bars on the roof to line through with the bars in the bi-fold. With a framed out roof but no glass, the designer (George Clarke) had to make some phone calls using his contacts to get the project back on track.

ABD showed a range of their popular aluminium roofs at Grand Designs Live NEC in October. The roofs were painted in various RAL colours and several types of glazing were installed to show the effects this has on the look of the roofs. We were also exhibiting our new switchable privacy glass which switches from transparent to translucent with just a flick of a switch.

ABD had a great Homebuilding and Renovating Show in September. We were showing our aluminium roofs in conjunction with our sister company Duration Windows. Duration brought along their ever popular bi-folding doors, this time in a really nice mid grey colour as well as a dual coloured black on white bi-fold. If you saw us on the stand then we are glad you came along, and we hope you enjoyed our products and the rest of the show.

In May 2008 ABD exhibited at the Grand Designs Live event, held at ExCeL London. This is our local event as it is just 45 minutes away from our factories in Essex. This event always attracts lots of potential customers to our stand, partly due to the London location, partly due to the large brand that Grand Designs gives and partly due to our great roofs !
